The Brief
Victorian Bluestone Quarries (VBQ) is a second-generation family business operating an established quarry and state-of-the-art stone manufacturing facility in north-west Melbourne. VBQ sources beautiful bluestone from their local quarry and customises products in their facility to suit a diverse range of civil infrastructure, residential and community projects.
After 50 years in business the VBQ brand and digital presence was ready for uplift. INSPIRED was engaged to craft a custom website solution to reflect the bespoke nature of VBQ’s service. Our team met with VBQ for a workshop and discovery session to uncover the essence of the brand, unique product attributes and identify the audiences and growth opportunities. Central to the brief was educating customers on the unique ‘quarry to the pavers’ service VBQ offers, differentiating the brand from competitors. It was also essential that the quality, durability and slip resistance of Victorian bluestone was emphasised, to position it as a superior product compared to imported bluestone.

From this brief INSPIRED planned the website information architecture via a wireframe and developed a bespoke website design to reflect VBQ’s new brand identity, custom manufacturing process and unique product attributes. With a modern, premium feel, the website educates users on VBQ’s custom stone solutions and communicates the ‘quarry to the pavers’ brand story through a combination of video, imagery and crafted content.
A video header on the homepage with headline copy overlaid immediately captures the audiences’ attention and all pages throughout the site have been crafted with user experience in mind, placing call-to-action directives and useful information at the users fingertips. A stylish masonry layout gallery effectively showcases the beauty and diversity of the product in a wide range of inspirational applications. The new website utilises the refreshed brand colour palette, graphical devices, image styling and custom fonts, which have been adopted across all marketing collateral and digital media.
The fully responsive site is search engine optimised, using best practice technical and keyword-based SEO principles. Google Analytics and the Google Search Console are integrated with the site, providing invaluable data on user experience and interaction. INSPIRED also provides ongoing website maintenance, ensuring the site is kept up to date with the latest product imagery.
