With a variety of end users including venue hirers, performing artists, corporate clients and event attendees, user experience was a key factor in the design of the Meat Market website. Through a process of stakeholder engagement and discovery, INSPIRED helped Meat Market articulate the requirements of each audience, and developed an information architecture which communicated to each user group.
Segmenting content into spaces for hire; resources for planning an event; and upcoming event listings, helped create a website which is highly functional and provides meaningful and relevant experiences to each user. High impact image sliders are used to great effect, communicating the versatility of the event spaces and wide variety of arts events and performances they accommodate. The home page features an upcoming events calendar, integrated with the event listings page to auto-populate content and provide users with a clear awareness of upcoming events at a glance. The upcoming events pages have been custom coded to display event promotional images, event details and booking links, venue maps and additional event features.
The modern square tile design of image and text sections throughout the site, mirrors the square iconography of the Meat Market logo to create an integrated digital brand presence. This visual branding and high contrast brand colour palette has subsequently been adopted across all marketing collateral and digital media.
Keyword research and website mapping were used to identify optimisation opportunities and a content brief for each page of the site was developed to target specific keywords. The fully responsive site is search engine optimised, using best practice technical and keyword-based SEO principles. Google Analytics and the Google Search Console were integrated with the site, providing invaluable data on user experience and interaction. INSPIRED also provides ongoing site maintenance and marketing support to the Meat Market management team as required.
